WOODEN PICKS
Our wooden picks are made of solid wood and have a sharp point for controlled playability and a clear tone, making them ideal for guitar, ukulele, and other stringed instruments.
The picks are offered in pairs, but a mixed set with all four varieties of wood is also available.
OGPW - CURVED
These wooden picks offer an additional curved thumb grip, which makes them more comfortable to play with. The pick gauge is 2.5 mm.
OGPWXLF - FLAT
The XL wooden picks have a slightly bigger triangle shape and a sharp tip. The pick gauge is 2.0 mm.
4 TYPES OF WOOD & 2 SHAPES
This wood has a light cream or yellowish brown color with darker brown or black streaks. With time, the color tends to deepen. Olive can have a curly or wavy grain, a burl, or a wild grain.
The hue can range from a delicate pinkish orange to a dark brownish red. When freshly cut, most pieces start off reddish orange and change to a reddish/purplish brown over time.
The color varies from dark orange to a deeper reddish purple, with darker streaks running through it. Over time, the colors tend to intensify to a deep reddish purple or practically black. A wavy, interlaced grain figure is sometimes noticed.
The wood of Chacate is somewhat glossy, with a delicate texture and interlaced grain. African Blackwood is similar to this sort of wood. Although the wood is sturdy, it is not as heavy as African Blackwood.
