Biography
Julio Valle is a Guatemalan guitarist recognized for his versatility and virtuosity. His profound love for jazz and classical music motivated him to study classical guitar at the National Conservatory of Guatemala. Subsequently, he continued to expand his musical knowledge in a self-taught way; Thas how his musical journey began.
In August 2012, Julio got awarded first place in the International Jazz Guitar Contest, which is directed and organized by OZ Events and Plaza Fontabella. In November 2018, in recognition to his extraordinary technical capacity, he obtained the award Virtuosity of the Premios Estela.
In June 2019, he got the the prestigious "Revelation Artist" award of the "Artist of the Year" awards which is organized by the journalist María Eugenia Gordillo. Julio has travelled throughout the world with his music. By headlining tours across Cuba, Mexico, Germany, Central America and the United States. He has introduced his audience his particular language composed of superb variations of jazz and fusion.
In his tours across the United States, he participated in the festival Jazz and Beyond that took place in Carson City, NV. He recorded some sessions at Jazstudio located in Napa, CA. In Oakland CA, in company of musician and producer Emmanuel Espinosa, Julio exposed characteristics of the musical instruments brand Anmiek. This event lead to an endorsement between Julio and the company Anmiek. He has presented himself in many music venues, including the famous, well-known Baked Potato. In addition, he participated in the Namm Show, in which he gave numerous presentations in several of his sponsors booths.
Julio has worked and collaborated with artists such as: Dave Weckl, Greg Howe, Andrea Motis, Rolando Luna, Junior Braguinha, Benny Ramos (Whitecross), Emmanuel Espinosa (Marcos Witt, Rojo), Leslie Johnson, and others.
He is actively playing with his solo project that have presented in the most prestigious jazz festivals of Guatemala as well as those in neighboring countries. Besides, Julio keeps himself busy doing clinics, concerts, recordings, touring all across the world and teaching music and individual guitar lessons. Needless to say, Julio plays an active role in music industry and has become one of the most influential guitar players in Latin America, leaving behind a musical legacy.
