KEN TAYLOR SIGNATURE BASSES finance 11.600 medical emergency supplies!
Five bass strings for 11.600 medical emergency supplies.
Bass player Ken Taylor donates in collaboration with ORTEGA Guitars and MEINL Musikinstrumente 5000, - Euro royalties collected from his KTSM Signature instruments to "Doctors Without Borders".
That it's a concern for musicians and the music industry to get involved in social projects we know not least since Sir Bob Geldof opened the unique LIVE AID concert marathon in 1985 to benefit the hungry in Africa. Thus this hundreds of millions did not flow into the pockets of the musicians but spent for food and medical aid directly where it was and is needed badly.
Two years ago KEN TAYLOR, bass player for over 20 years of the Peter Maffay Band and world demand studio musicians - including for Brian May (Queen), Bruce Springsteen, J.Lord (Deep Purple) a.m.o. got his own KTSM Signature acoustic basses made by the German manufacturer ORTEGA Guitars - tailored to suit. Spontaneously musician and producer decided that ALL royalties usually paid to the artist for giving his name will be donated 100% to charity.
Thus, every musician who acquires a KTSM (KEN TAYLOR SIGNATURE MODEL) automatically involves himself in aid projects. This time KEN, his wife FELICIA (European Gospel Grammy award winner), ORTEGA and MEINL decided to support "Doctors Without Borders". Those docters and nurses are still on site when others have left for home whether it be in cases of outbreaks, in war zones, refugee camps and disaster areas.
Already on October 25th during a small handover ceremony at the premises of the "Doctors Without Borders" headquarters in Berlin/Germany all involved parties have been impressed and deeply touched by the statements of President Dr. Tankred Stöbe which also clearly underlined: This is the right choice to support here.
Hard to believe that with the donated 5000,- Euro more than 11,000 people can be served with medical care for 3 months in disaster areas or to fund 250 anesthesia for emergency surgery.
"Art and Medicine - all located closer to each other than it seems ..... we all pursue a mission, only in a different way ..." added Dr. Stoebe at the end of the meeting before all involved parties joined a group picture with pride and joy.
Ken Taylor and ORTEGA Guitars will contine to build the KTSM Signature models in series ... the story goes on!
